Hollywood Stars 'Hand in Hand' to Help the Victims of the Hurricanes

The fundraiser was originally created to help victims of Hurricane Harvey, but organizers Scooter Braun and Bun B decided that Tuesday night's efforts will also benefit those who were affected by the devastation caused by Hurricane Irma in Florida. The program will air worldwide 8 p.m.to 9 p.m. ET live from Nashville, New York, and Los Angeles.

Nicki Minaj tweeted a group shot of many celebs involved, adding the caption, "Just got the word, over 15 MILLION was raised tonight". It barreled into the Florida Keys on Sunday, where 90 percent of homes are believed to be destroyed or heavily damaged. However, the devastation that Hurricane Harvey [VIDEO] brought about is still a significant obstacle faced by the victims.

Stephen Colbert announced Apple had donated $5 million to the cause and Jimmy Fallon said Albertsons Cos. and Merck had each kicked in $1 million.

The telethon will air from Los Angeles, but there will be stages in NY and Nashville, Tennessee.

Additionally, Michael Dell, founder and CEO of Dell Technologies, along with his wife Susan pledged to match the first $10 million in donation on Tuesday. "You've seen the images of strangers in boats reaching out a hand to people in flooding waters and rescue them, literally save their lives by pulling them up into a boat". And in today's case, we're asking that you give.

If you're eager to share your dollars or want to tune in, we've prepared a handy guide for you.

Dreamed up by Bernard Freeman, a Houston rapper who goes by the stage name Bun B, and his manager Scooter Braun, the Hand in Hand telethon was initially aimed to raise funds for victims of Hurricane Harvey, but then Irma came.

Those wishing to donate to help hurricane relief efforts can do so via phone, text message and online throughout the course of the telethon.

The telethon was initially intended as relief for the victims of Hurricane Harvey in Texas, but it was expanded to help those affected by Hurricane Irma as well. Those proceeds will go toward Comic Relief USA's hurricane relief efforts through the US and Caribbean. As of now, proceeds will go to Habitat for Humanity, Save the Children, the United Way of Greater Houston, as well as local charities including the Rebuild Texas Fund, Direct Relief, and Feeding Texas.
