Former Cornell Quarterback Lazor '94 Named Bengals' Offensive Coordinator

Former Cornell Quarterback Lazor '94 Named Bengals' Offensive Coordinator

According to the Bengals, quarterbacks coach Bill Lazor will take over coordinator duties. They are the first team to fail to score a touchdown in consecutive home games since the 1939 Philadelphia Eagles.

The Bengals scored nine points on three field goals during their loss to Houston Thursday night.

While Jackson is rightfully praised for his offensive mind and what he was able to do with the Bengals' offense while he was the offensive coordinator, I do think that Zampese's brief tenure in that role is entitled to some contextualization. "We have a lot of talent on offense, and we need to keep working to take full advantage of the personnel we have", said Lewis.

"No, I'm not anxious about Andy", Lewis said when asked if there will be a quarterback change in Cincinnati. Former Bills coach Rex Ryan jettisoned Greg Roman a year ago despite Buffalo scoring 31 points in a loss to the Jets. We've been struggling on offense, getting to the red zone. Quarterback Andy Dalton completed just 57 percent of his passes for a 76.4 rating, failing to make the most of superstar wide receiver A.J. Green. Green was not afraid to say what he thought of the team's performance during the first two weeks of NFL football. "I just go out there and run the play".

Lazor's primary tasks as the Bengals' new offensive coordinator are clear.

Zampese, 50, was the Bengals' quarterbacks coach from 2003-15. Ryan was ultimately fired in Week 16, but the Bills did respond to Anthony Lynn replacing Roman by winning their next four games and averaging more than 23 points per contest.

After an 0-2 start in which the offense has yet to score a touchdown, the Cincinnati Bengals are looking to Bill Lazor to help fix that. "We are going to have to look at it and see what we can do differently".
