Paulinho snatches victory for FC Barcelona, Ousmane Dembele suffers injury scare

Paulinho snatches victory for FC Barcelona, Ousmane Dembele suffers injury scare

Paulinho who arrived at the Camp Nou this summer, came off the bench to net the victor, to ensure their flawless start to the season continues.

Japanese worldwide Shibasaki took matters into his own hands as he opened the scoring for Getafe with a spectacular volley from the edge of the box in the 39th minute, 1-0.

Ousmane Dembele suffered a hamstring injury and was substituted in his first La Liga start for Barcelona during their clash with Getafe on Saturday.

But Denis Suarez and Paulinho struck to give Ernesto Valverde's side their fifth win on the bounce across all competitions.

Barcelona remain top of the league with 12 points after four games.

Barca's fine start to the season means they already sit seven points clear of reigning champions Real Madrid, whose game in hand is a testing away trip to in-form Real Sociedad on Sunday.

Dembele, making his first start in La Liga, fell to the ground clutching his hamstring after sprinting for the ball just after the 20-minute mark.

The equaliser then came on 62 minutes as Barca regained possession down the right, allowing Roberto to cut back for Denis Suarez, who had replaced Iniesta at the break, to take a touch and send an impressive finish into the top corner from 12 yards.

Messi nearly found a quick-fire equaliser, his free kick curling towards Guaita's top-left corner, but the goalkeeper managed to tip it over.

Valverde introduced Paulinho in his final change, but it was Getafe who nearly grabbed a shock victor when Mauro Arambarri's deflected effort bounced off the foot of the post.

Barcelona completed the comeback vs. Getafe and remain ideal in La Liga courtesy of new-signing Paulinho's strike late on.
