YouTube Help: YouTube Partner Program overview

According to IGN, all members of the program are now forbidden from livestreaming Nintendo games through YouTube, which is unfortunate considering the rapidly approaching launch of Super Mario Odyssey. "This means that you can not broadcast on YouTube Live from the account you have registered to the Nintendo Creators Program". "Videos which had previously been registered through your channel would need to be reregistered individually".

Just when you thought the controversy regarding YouTube and Nintendo was over, it pops back up again. The email appears to have been sent out by Nintendo warning users that live streaming its games is no longer allowed under the Nintendo Creators Program. At the time, the Nintendo Creators Program was panned by the YouTube community, with many members expressing concern about the approval process, and how the amount they can earn on their videos or channels is subject to change. The video must reach 10,000 views before that option is available. In either scenario, YouTube users who have grown accustomed to covering Nintendo content now have a number of hoops to jump through if that coverage includes any live video content.

Another issue here is the amount of ad revenue share creators are able to get.

The main issue here for content creators is that live streaming is now one of the most viable ways to earn revenue through gaming content. However, it's also understandable that plenty of video creators are going to be frustrated about this change, especially those who run YouTube channels dedicated to Nintendo games. However, it does not seem likely that they will move on their current stance against live streaming. "Additionally channels do not have to actually monetize any videos as part of this requirement", YouTube wrote via statement. Its first suggestion is that streamers do so under a separate account that is not registered to the Creators Program.
