TMZ: Las Vegas Gunman Booked Rooms Overlooking Lollapalooza

TMZ: Las Vegas Gunman Booked Rooms Overlooking Lollapalooza

There is new information that the man accused of killing 58 people at a country music festival at October 1 may have thought about doing the same thing at this year's Life is attractive festival.

New evidence now raises the prospect that the shooter who terrorized the Route 91 Harvest Festival may have considered other targets, including the Lollapalooza music festival in Chicago's Grant Park and the Life Is Beautiful festival in downtown Las Vegas.

The gunman who carried out the worst mass shooting in recent United States history had booked rooms at a Chicago hotel overlooking the Lollapalooza music festival in August, the website TMZ reported on Thursday.

"There were a number of missed opportunities by the hotel", the source said. He booked a second room August 3.

At a news conference Tuesday afternoon, Las Vegas Sheriff Joe Lombardo said he could not confirm whether Paddock had eyed the Life is handsome concert prior to his attack on concertgoers.

Two months later, Paddock rented a room on the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Resort, and opened fire on a country music festival on the Las Vegas Strip, killing 58 people and wounding hundreds more.

Lombardo told a press conference "anything that would indicate this individual's trigger point and that would cause him to do such harm, we haven't understood it yet".

He even rented an apartment in a Las Vegas high-rise over another music festival the weekend before the massacre, possibly as a dry run.

Authorities believe Paddock had stockpiled weapons and ammunition over decades, and meticulously planned the Sunday night's attack. He says investigators have recovered items and video from the hotel.

He said at the time that they had information that Paddock may have attended Life is lovely. "We can't comment on an ongoing investigation", she said. She said she had no inkling of his murderous plans. "Putting aside the somewhat dubious claims of responsibility that we see in each one of these instances, we look for actual indicators of affiliation, of motive, of intent, and so far we're not there".

Ms Danley, who returned to the USA late Tuesday from a family visit to the Philippines, is regarded by investigators as a "person of interest".

Ms Danley said Paddock had bought her an airline ticket to visit her family and wired her money to purchase property there, leading her to worry he might be planning to break up with her. "They train all year", Emanuel said. She said she was devastated by the carnage and would cooperate with authorities as they struggle to get inside Paddock's mind.
