IPhone 8 likely to hit S. Korea on November 3

IPhone 8 likely to hit S. Korea on November 3

Since Kuo predicts the TrueDepth Camera and facial recognition will be included on more iPhone and iPad models in 2018, developers are expected to focus more on developing facial-recognition-related applications.

This way, Apple will be able to build a new ecosystem for iOS users.

The iPhone X itself packs in a ton of new tech and a higher-resolution display than the iPhone 8 Plus, so its slightly larger battery doesn't last quite as long as the 8 Plus. Many Apple fans were anxious about being locked out of their iPhone if Face ID didn't work properly, but it seems like Apple has managed to put their fears to rest, at least for now. Unfortunately, it's also the component that Kuo believes is causing the biggest problem for Apple's suppliers because he believes the camera module is what's causing the yield problems for the iPhone X. With that issue seemingly resolved, Kuo anticipates that Apple in 2018 will ship anywhere from 245 - 250 million iPhone units, a marked increase from the approximately 220 million iPhone units Kuo believes Apple will sell this year. According to Kuo, Apple plans to bring its face-scanning TrueDepth camera to more products in 2018.

However, the iPhone X isn't out yet and Apple hasn't yet received feedback from users on the new security feature. Still when it comes for the iPhone purchase there are many factors gets involve: - affordability -storage size need- or because of the increasing reliance on the cloud with features like iCloud or Apple Music streaming. Particularly, this is because Face ID still isn't even widely used, and as a result, Apple doesn't have an inkling of how consumers will react to the technology.

While iPads don't command the same unit volumes as iPhones, this is all still good news for TrueDepth component suppliers Lumentum, Finisar, and II-VI, which provide the vertical-cavity surface-emitting lasers (VCSELs) that Apple refers to as "Dot Projectors". Pre-orders for iPhone X begin Oct 27, and the phone will be available in stores on Nov 3. Now a report says that the Cupertino brand may equip 2018 iPad Pro models with the facial recognition technology too.
