Sylvester Stallone says he's directing Creed 2

This confirms that Creed director and co-writer Ryan Coogler won't be involved with the sequel, as Stallone has already stated that he has written the movie's script.

Stallone has announced that he will be directing, producing and starring in the highly anticipated film Creed 2, starring Michael B. Jordan. That said, Stallone has the small matter of four Rocky films he's directed under his belt.

That director is Sylvester Stallone, going behind the camera for the first time since 2010's The Expendables.

Of course, we can't help but notice something missing from Sylvester Stallone's announcement regarding Creed 2.

With the project still a few months away from the start of production, it's understandable that we don't know too much about Creed 2 just yet.

In July, Stallone also suggested that fellow action star Dolph Lundgren will reprise his role as Russian heavyweight Ivan Drago, last seen in 1985's Rocky IV. 2015's Creed was a masterful expansion of the world, introducing Michael B. Jordan's Adonis Creed (son of Apollo) and a new, more socially conscious outlook on what it means to be a modern underdog.

The film was slated for a 2017 release, however, Coogler and Jordan's commitments to "Black Panther" pushed it to a yet unannounced date.
