According to a tweet from the airline, AY666 will take to the skies 15 more times before being retired due to expansion.

HEL of course, is the airport code for Helsinki, Finland, and Finnair's Flight AY666 took off from Copenhagen, Denmark, in the 13th hour of Friday the 13th, bound for Vantaa airport in Finland's capital city.

Actually, Flight 666 has operated on Friday the 13th 21 times according to Finnair, and each flight made it to Helsinki without any problems.

Flight 666, which departed on the 13th hour of October 13 and headed straight for HEL (Helsinki, Finland), has arrived safely and ahead of schedule.

As for Finnair, they're saying so long to 666 with a wink, and a clever invitation to join another flight - this one from Singapore to Helsinki.

However, the flight number is now being changed as part of an overall reordering of flight data by the airline.

Helsinki Airport also confirmed the arrival and pointed out another interesting piece of information.

Pilot Juha-Pekka Keidasto previously told RT: "It has been quite a joke among the pilots".
