Kevin Spacey may be written out of 'House of Cards'

Kevin Spacey may be written out of 'House of Cards'

British media said Spacey was the object of the inquiry. Spacey has also been dropped by his publicist and talent agency, CAA as allegations continue emerge. The question now is whether the writers will kill off Frank - certainly well within the show's established tone - or figure out another way to explain his absence.

CNN reported that eight current or former "House of Cards" workers claimed that Spacey made the production a "toxic" workplace and one ex-employee alleged the actor sexually assaulted him.

Netflix also said that they would not be releasing "Gore", a film produced by and starring Spacey. Now production of season 6 has been halted and the season six is in jeopardy. But the future was murky. The studio's statement reads, "MRC, in partnership with Netflix, will continue to evaluate a creative path forward for the program during the hiatus".

And MRC is "deeply troubled" by the allegations and have implemented "an anonymous complaint hotline, crisis counselors, and sexual harassment legal advisors for the crew".

The employees who worked with Spacey on the set of House of Cards told CNN that the star created a toxic work environment.

Mexican actor Roberto Cavazos wrote on his Facebook page that he encountered Spacey at the bar of London's Old Vic Theatre, where Spacey was artistic director from 2004-15, and the actor tried to fondle him against his will.

Since early October close to 100 women have accused the disgraced Hollywood producer of misconduct ranging from harassment to rape, unleashing a torrent of accusations against a growing list of rich and powerful men from politics to the art world.

"Spacey responded to Rapp's initial allegations, saying that he didn't remember the encounter and offered an apology".

"We were all involved in keeping it quiet". When the staffer told Spacey he wasn't comfortable with the situation, he said Spacey became "visibly flustered" and left the set for the rest of the day.

The Old Vic was "not now in a position to comment on specifics", it said. Spacey never denied those allegations, instead pointing the finger at his alcohol use at the time and using the opportunity to come out as gay, a decision that earned him scorn from critics wondering if he was trying to deflect outrage away from himself in the process.
