3GB RAM variant of Nokia 5 Launched in India at Rs. 13499

3GB RAM variant of Nokia 5 Launched in India at Rs. 13499

Today, HMD Global came out with an upgraded variant of the Nokia 5 with 3GB of RAM. Reports said, "The online retailer is now listing a Jio - Nokia Additional Data offer on the smartphone, promising 5 GB of extra 4G data on every recharge of Rs 309 or above, limited to 10 recharges till August 31, 2018".

The Nokia 5 3GB RAM variant will be available initially exclusively on Flipkart starting November 7 with plenty of offers.

Apart from the difference in RAM, all other specifications of the new and old Nokia 5 models are exactly the same. It comes in Matte Black and Tempered Blue colors.

Coming to the specs of the Nokia 5, it sports a 5.2-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) 2.5D curved display with Corning Gorilla Glass on top.

The device is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 mobile platform and has internal memory of 16GB that can be expanded up to 128GB via microSD card slot. The only change with the new variant is that it comes with 3GB RAM instead of 2GB. Talking about its selfie camera, the smartphone features an 8-megapixel front-facing shooter with an f/2.0 aperture, 84-degree field of view lens and autofocus for capturing selfies and making a video call.

The Nokia 5 was launched in August this year for Rs 12,499 with just 2GB of RAM - which disappointed a few fans and loyalists. Sadly not, this price increase has pushed the Nokia 5's price to much closer to the Nokia 6 and most importantly to one of the best smartphones in this range, the Xiaomi Mi A1 which as you might know operates with the same USP, pure Android Nougat and guaranteed updates.

The phone has 13 megapixels rear camera with dual-tone LED Flash and f/2.0 aperture. The phone is backed by a 3,000mAh battery. It also supports WiFi, WiFi Hotspot and Bluetooth 4.2.
