Microsoft's Who's In app now available for Android and iOS devices

Microsoft's Who's In app now available for Android and iOS devices

A freaky predictive text error has left some iPhone users unable to type the word "I".

Apple's upcoming iOS 11.2 update is now in beta and the current version delivers a nice list of changes including Apple Pay Cash, a fix for an annoying autocorrect bug, a fix for a calculator issue, and several other notable tweaks. For those who are, Apple has provided a temporary workaround until a software patch can be issued. Apple now says the bug could also appear in earlier versions of iOS 11. Public beta testers were seeded with a second beta of iOS 11.2 this morning. The move suggests the upcoming launch of iOS 11.2 will include the new service.

Apple Pay Cash will allow users to make personal payments over iMessage or make purchases using money stored on a virtual debit card in the Wallet app. Apple isn't saying, but there are some technical theories.

This story originally appeared in The Wall Street Journal.

First, you can set up a text replacement shortcut that will correct the issue.

You need to go to Settings General Keyboard Text Replacement, and then tap + in the Text Replacement window.

Now when you type "i" and hit space, it should automatically correct itself to "I".

The reason behind the bug is unclear, and while a significant portion of iOS 11.1 users are experiencing the problem, not everyone is seeing it. Instantly. To send and receive money with Apple Pay, you must be at least 18 years old and you must live in the United States.

It's not uncommon for new software to have bugs. This bug affected the phone's lightning Earpods and poor network signal.
