Martellus Bennett rips the Packers for how they handled his shoulder injury

Martellus Bennett rips the Packers for how they handled his shoulder injury

That was especially clear on Friday when the National Football League tight end posted a long message via 13 Instagram Stories to comment on the Packers waiving him on what was reported to be "a failure to disclose a medical condition designation".

He hasn't had surgery at this time, however, and his plan for recovery is unclear. "I f--d it up playing for the Packers".

Nora Princiotti of the Boston Globe noted Bennett was present during New England's practice Friday, lending credence to the idea he'll attempt to play. He said he injured the shoulder with the Packers, not before. "And they made a decision to waive me with some bulls-t excuse".

On Thursday, McCarthy was asked if Bennett's behavior might be related suddenly wanting out of Green Bay now that Aaron Rodgers has been sidelined - possibly for the season - with a shoulder injury of his own.

Bennett gave his side of the story on an Instagram story, with some serious allegations about Dr. Patrick McKenzie, the Packers' team doctor.

"Dr. McKenzie didn't make [me] feel safe and was pushing [me] to play, which I thought was weird".

"In 10 years of being with the Packers organization and having multiple injuries and surgeries, I have never once felt pressured to play in a game", Nelson wrote on Twitter.

Bennett, who was picked up by the Patriots with a torn rotator cuff, wrote that he didn't trust the Packers' doctor and was only waived after he decided he needed surgery after getting opinions from different doctors.

He says the Packers have access to all of his medical records and should know that this injury got worse while playing in Green Bay.

Bennett's return to New England is the exclamation point on a odd two weeks in which the tight end said during the team's Week 8 bye that he would probably retire at the end of the season. And they chose to waive me with some bulls-- excuse. I get it. But don't lie, homie.

Bennett said that the Packers were motivated to remove him from their books with the failure to disclose designation when they got anxious that he would end up going on IR and being on their books next season.

"They panicked. Thinking that I was trying to go on IR and be on their books next year". All about money. I get it.

"I think this all started, obviously, coming out of the bye week", McCarthy told reporters, via ESPN.com. "You know wtf was up". However, Bennett was at practice with the Patriots on Friday.
