Taylor Swift Strips Things Down for 'Saturday Night Live' Performances

A newscaster based in OH used Tay's song titles while giving the traffic report on Friday (November 10), the same day that the singer's reputation album was released. Accompanied by a cellist, an acoustic guitarist and the four singers, she threw the song's lyrics, interpreted by many as being about her public beef with Kanye West and Kim Kardashian, into stark relief.

For those who were anxious that the entire performance would be all about the Reputation era, the fans are also relived to know that Taylor brought part of her old self to the stage too. Many began questioning if she's put on weight.

In the heated debate of which genre T-Swift outshines the other (pop Taylor country Taylor, definitely), new Taylor falls somewhere in between, veering further from her country roots, and leaning too heavily into her celebrity problems to connect with even the poppiest pop fans. Before the premiere of her sixth studio album, Taylor held listening sessions for lucky fans. This is a new Taylor, one that not everyone is going to like or take seriously.

"At the [secret session] she was like 'I gained 15 pounds and everyone thinks I'm pregnant, I'm not, '" @SwiftBethany13st claimed Taylor said.
