Broadcast your voice to Google speakers around your house with Google Assistant

Broadcast your voice to Google speakers around your house with Google Assistant

All one needs to do is connect all such devices through a common Google account and the work is done. Their speakers with built-in Google Assistant has now been given the ability to do the same. The search giant has announced a new broadcast feature for Google Assistant, which will allow you to relay messages across all your Google Home smart speakers. This may prove to be a bit hard if it's a smartphone, but at least with Google Home speakers, you can guarantee that. A prized feature that many seem to have jumped at using, especially since you can do it from anywhere using your Alexa app as well. The message will then be broadcast to all Google Assistant-enabled speakers associated with the user.

One can use this feature on any of its AI-powered devices, be it a home appliance or a smartphone. Google adds that the feature will roll out to other languages soon.

Known as broadcasting, it saves you from having to shout call your family for dinner or let the kids know they're about to be late for school.

It can be useful for the everyday routine of waking up on time or eating dinner. This will transmit the message to the user on their Google Home. For example, if a user wants to ring in dinner time, the Assistant will ring a dinner bell on every speaker.

"Broadcasting starts rolling out today to the Assistant on phones and speakers set to English language in the U.S., Australia, Canada and the United Kingdom, with more languages coming soon", both gents conclude. The device also supports up to 32 room sensors and is compatible with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit, the Google Assistant, Samsung SmartThings, Wink and IFTTT.

I haven't seen the update yet on any of the three Google Home units in the house, even the Google Mini that was recently brought home, so this could be a phased update.
