Wind, rain and snow in South Lake Tahoe, snow at upper elevations

Showers will turn to more of a steady rain Saturday night. Patchy fog between 7 and 11 a.m. Winds NNW at 15 to 25 miles per hour. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent. For those living in the larger valleys, a few snow showers possible with no accumulation. Temperatures drop into the mid-30s tonight, winds are calm, and skies are partly cloudy. Northwest wind 5 to 9 miles per hour becoming calm after midnight. Thanksgiving Thursday looks great with highs in the mid 50s and even warmer temperatures by Friday with highs around 60° although for those black Friday shopping early in the morning lows will be in the 30s.

Sunday looks sunny and dry. South winds will increase Monday with lows in the 50s and highs in the lower or mid-60s before another front quickly passes the area with a minor yet noticeable cool-down Tuesday into Wednesday with morning lows in the 40s and highs in the 50s. A couple of inches of snow will be possible in ski country. High temperatures in our area are forecast to be in the middle to upper 80s Friday afternoon - about 20 degrees above normal.

The big weather story is the small chance for rain this morning then again tonight. Temperatures should be in the lower 70s with south winds around 20 miles per hour. Saturday night lows will be in the 50s-not too bad. Highs will be in the upper 40s-low 50s Winds NW 15-30, gusting up to 40 miles per hour.

Sunday night: Mostly clear, low around 28.

Monday night: Partly cloudy, low around 36.

Saturday - Sunny, with a high near 48.

Wednesday - Cloudy. High 6 C. Night: Cloudy.

A cold start Sunday will give way to more seasonal weather for the afternoon.

Temperatures will reach the low to mid-70s by midday Saturday but could fall back into the 60s by late afternoon.
