'SNL' announces December hosts: Saoirse Ronan, James Franco, Kevin Hart

Lady Bird lead Saoirse Ronan and U2 were previously announced as this weekend's guest host and performer.

Saturday Night Live finished up a batch of three episodes just before Thanksgiving, and now they're about to do the same with three more back-to-back episodes scheduled for the month of December, leading right up to Christmas. The actress, who now stars in the critically acclaimed "Lady Bird", is more well known for her dramatic roles in Oscar-nominated flicks like "Brooklyn" and "The Lovely Bones". His musical guest will be platinum-selling artist SZA, who will likely be belting out songs from her debut album Ctrl.

The hosts will have some formidable musical accompaniment. too. And the winter finale will be emceed by Kevin Hart, who marks his third appearance, with musical guest Foo Fighters.

The December 9 episode will feature James Franco as host.

SNL tweeted the news Monday with the message "Happy December!" He hasn't been seen on "Saturday Night Live" since 2009. And closing out the year, we have Foo Fighters supporting their 2017 release, Concrete And Gold, on a show hosted by Jumanji's Kevin Hart.
