Georgia ILB Natrez Patrick arrested for a misdemeanor

Georgia ILB Natrez Patrick arrested for a misdemeanor

Two Georgia Bulldogs were arrested late Saturday following the Bulldogs' win in the SEC Championship, according to Barrow County police.

Stanley was charged with DUI drugs, possession of marijuana of less than an ounce and speeding. Authorities say Patrick was a passenger in a vehicle pulled over late Saturday that was driven by Georgia backup wide receiver Jayson Stanley.

School officials have yet to comment. Whether Stanley gets the same punishment remains to be seen, but it doesn't appear he has been arrested during his Georgia career.

Smith said Patrick paid a "small fine" and has since been released.

The two were held overnight at Barrow County detention center in Winder, Georgia.

Patrick, a junior, was suspended four games after he was arrested on October 5 in Athens on a misdemeanor marijuana charge. His bond was set for $1,030.

Patrick logged three tackles in Saturday's SEC Championship Game and is sixth on the team this season with 35 tackles.

UGA's student-athlete handbook calls for a four-game suspension for football players who incur a second marijuana violation.

A little over five hours after that game, one starter on that team would find himself in the back of a squad vehicle. Patrick played in a combined 21 games in 2015 and 2016, including 11 starts, and totaled 81 tackles.
