Rob Gronkowski apologizes, blames frustration for late hit on Tre'Davious White

New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski (87) runs the ball after a catch during the first half against the Buffalo Bills at New Era Field.

The play came in the fourth quarter after White had just intercepted a Tom Brady pass intended for Gronkowski.

Gronkowski did apologize for the hit following the game, saying he just got caught up in emotions and was frustrated. I can't tell. He is not known for that, so who knows?

"Whether it warrants a suspension or whatever, there's no place in this league for that", Bills safety Jordan Poyer said. Just want to apologize to Tre'Davious White. It was just a lot of frustration. "I don't really believe in types of shots like that". "It was unfortunate, and I know he's a better player than that".

When asked exactly why he was frustrated, Gronk suggested that he was earning a discriminate amount of penalties.

"I just don't understand why there wasn't a flag", he continued. A couple times in the game. What am I supposed to do? "But, just through the frustration process, game of football emotions, just what happened". And then they don't call that, I mean. "It's like insane. What am I supposed to do?"

The frustration clearly boiled over for Gronkowski on Sunday, but he still managed nine receptions for 147 yards in New England's blowout win.
