Removing Any Qualifications, Trump Endorses Roy Moore

Removing Any Qualifications, Trump Endorses Roy Moore

US President Donald Trump has fully endorsed an Alabama Senate candidate who is embroiled in allegations of child sex abuse.

The Moore campaign put out a statement with additional details about the conversation.

"Democrats refusal to give even one vote for massive Tax Cuts is why we need Republican Roy Moore to win in Alabama". I look forward to fighting alongside the President to strengthen our military, secure our border, protect our gun rights, defend the sanctity of life, and confirm conservative judges to courts around this nation. The explosive revelations were published by the Washington Post, which has interviewed more than 30 people who knew Moore between 1977 and 1982.

The schoolgirl-chasing pervert reveled in Trump's endorsement, bragging that the president called him a "fighter" and told him, "Go get 'em Roy".

Ivanka Trump previously said: "I've yet to see a valid explanation and I have no reason to doubt the victims' accounts".

The White House confirmed that the call took place and Trump's official endorsement of Moore.

The full-throated support from the president comes with just eight days until the state's special election to fill the seat left empty when Jeff Sessions became attorney general.Trump defended Moore last month against the allegations of sexual misconduct. "We are uncomfortable with the explanations that Roy Moore has given to date", White House legislative director Marc Short told ABC News.

The Alabama race has drawn national attention in the weeks since The Washington Post first reported accusations by multiple women that Moore initiated unwanted sexual encounters with them while he was in his 30s and they were teenagers.

One alleges he molested her when she was 14 years old. Moore has denied the allegations.

He then suggested a victory for Democratic candidate Doug Jones in Alabama would harm his party's agenda.

Trump's move runs counter to many other Republican leaders who have repudiated Moore and called on him to exit the race.

The poll also found 71 percent of Alabama Republicans believe the allegations of misconduct against Moore are completely false. But on Sunday, he said the people of Alabama should "make the call" on Moore.
