Far Cry 5 and Other Upcoming Ubisoft Titles Hit With Delays

Far Cry 5 was due to release on February 27th 2018 but will now land a month later on March 27th instead. The open-world shooter Far Cry 5's launch has now been pushed back by a month to 27th March 2018, and a currently unannounced title previously scheduled for a 2018-19 fiscal year release is now reassigned to the following financial year.

3 Unannounced Franchise Games - Set for 2018-2019 fiscal year.

Ubisoft executive Christine Burgess-Quémard said in a statement it will be investing "additional development time" in those games, as it needed more time to develop the recently released Assassin's Creed's Origins. Sound off in the comments and let us know! As for what those titles could be remains to be seen, but it's not out of the realm of possibility that one of them could be the next Assassin's Creed, considering Ubisoft's stance on releasing their flagship title on a bi-annual schedule.

"Ambitious" is a pretty good word to describe Far Cry 5.

As Ubisoft stated, this extra time will give allow Ubisoft Montreal to make some additional improvements that will bring the best, most ambitious Far Cry experience in line with the team's original vision. The unique hook of "The Crew 2" is the addition of airplanes and boats as distinct vehicle classes that the player can switch between at will, along with ground-based vehicles.

In a brief blog post today, Ubisoft announced the delay of the two titles mentioned above. The game was originally meant to come out on March 16th. There is no clue as to what the game is, but it seems to imply a sequel to an existing game so... maybe Watch Dogs or Assassin's Creed.
