Whatsapp may stop working from January 1st

WhatsApp is known for supporting older generation operating systems, but the end of support from Microsoft and BlackBerry forced WhatsApp to end the support.

However, as of January 1, you will not be able to use the app if you're using the Blackberry OS and Blackberry 10 operating systems, and Windows Phone 8.0 and older. The popular instant messaging app, recently revealed that the company will end support for some smartphone platforms by the end of this year (December 31).

You can tap Upgrade button to remove limitations, the price for In-App-Purchase is 0$.

The company has said that it is looking forward to focussing on mobile platforms which are used by the majority of the users.

"About 70 percent of smartphones sold at the time had operating systems offered by BlackBerry and Nokia". The platform said the gadgets "don't offer the kind of capabilities we need to expand our app's features in the future".

Last year, the company axed support for a host of other mobile systems, such as Nokia Symbian S60, Android 2.1 and 2.2, and iPhone 3GS/iOS 6. It will do the same for Nokia S40 handsets on December 31 2018 and then devices running Android 2.3.7 and older after 1 February, 2020.

BlackBerry OS and BlackBerry 10, after December 31. The Android versions that no longer work with WhatsApp were released in 2009 and 2010.

If you use a Windows 10 PC and have an Android phone, you should definitely give Roamit a try.

"If you use one of these affected mobile devices, we recommend upgrading to a newer Android, iPhone, or Windows Phone". WhatsApp announced earlier this year it had one billion people worldwide using the service every month and one billion daily active users.
