Titans' Marcus Mariota tosses touchdown to himself

Titans' Marcus Mariota tosses touchdown to himself

In what might go down as one of the craziest plays in postseason history, the Titans quarterback threw a touchdown pass to himself during the third quarterback of Tennessee's wild-card game against the Chiefs.

Mariota is the first player in the Super Bowl era with a pass TD and receiving TD in a single playoff game, and Mariota did it on the same play.

Marcus Mariota was strip-sacked by Derrick Johnson and the ball was recovered by Justin Houston.

Mike Mularkey and company have been criticized for the conservative nature of the play-calling, especially through the prism of Mariota's mobility and explosiveness.

"Sometimes you've got to play backyard football", Walker said, via The Tennessean.

The Titans are underdogs on the road in Kansas City so, if Mariota does not make things up, the team may be in some trouble against the Chiefs. Sometimes you've got to overcome coaching. That's what you've got to do.

It wasn't an easy start for Mariota, who threw a costly interception from the Chiefs 21-yard line in the first half. Two weeks ago, Rishard Matthews said the Titans needed to be less predictable and allow the quarterback to run more hurry up.
