Margot Robbie to attend Australian Premiere of I, Tonya

With all the buzz surrounding I, Tonya, the story of the epic - and violent - rivalry between figure skaters Tonya Harding and Nancy Kerrigan has once again captured national attention. The scenes are based on real-life footage of LaVona, Tonya's mother, and Janney's reenactment in I, Tonya is totally spot on. "I go, 'What the hell are you talking about?'" That confession marked the first time she plainly stated she knew Nancy or another American competitor was prone to attack. The goal: To eliminate Kerrigan, her arch rival, from the upcoming Winter Olympic games. "It took me so long to be able to ask somebody to help me".

You can catch I, Tonya across Australian cinemas on 25th January 2018.

When Piers tried to address the attack on Nancy during the interview, Tonya attempted to pull the conversation back around to her hopes for the film.

Morgan, however, was just getting started and refused to subscribe to the narrative that Harding was the true victim, as the film, which delves heavily into her abusive relationships with her mother and ex-husband Jeff Gillooly, contends. "But I think the victim in all this wasn't you". And when she told me, 'Well, I'd been studying you for nearly a year, ' I was, like, 'Oh, my God, ' " she added. "I think that many people are the victims of abuse, every single day, and can't stand up for themselves". When asked by Morgan whether or not she knew an attack was being planned, Harding claimed to not have known anything prior, and Morgan said only, "OK, we'll leave it there" before shutting down the interview.

After a moment of shock, Tonya responded. "I did find out after the fact".

Moving forward, Harding, who ended up serving three years probation, 500 hours of community service, paying a $160,000 fine, and was slapped with a lifetime ban from competitive skating, says she's done apologizing.
