Tom Hanks buys a round of martinis for Steven Spielberg

Tom Hanks buys a round of martinis for Steven Spielberg

Recently, the pair of them appeared on The Ellen Show.

The two spoke with Ellen about the importance of the film among other things, as well as a potential Oprah Winfrey presidency.

Proving he's the ultimate nice guy, Hanks did his table a solid at Sunday's Golden Globe Awards and graciously made a decision to pick up the drinks, a necessary staple at the famously boozy ceremony.

"When pressed on who Oprah could appoint to her Cabinet or as Vice-President, Streep also suggested just "[keeping] it in Hollywood. "We really want that kind of elevated aspirational, can-do, optimistic attachment to the principles of our country".

"She did part the waters there", Hanks said, joking that Winfrey's speech was possibly heaven-sent.

She quipped: "He brought four of them and brought them under my nose!"

Tom Hanks says he said "yes" to Steven Spielberg's The Post after reading the script "very quickly".

"I was told to go get martinis", Hanks noted.

"She's on antibiotics because she's getting over the flu, so she couldn't have one", Hanks said of Streep.

The Cast Away actor compared it to being "one of those truckers on mountain roads" carrying unsafe chemicals. "I have never been more nervous carrying something through a crowded space".

Following this up, Hanks was required to reprise a quote from Streep's character Miranda Priestly from The Devil Wears Prada.
