Brooklynn Prince, the 7-year-old-actress from 'The Florida Project' won the 'Best Young Actor' award for her role in the movie and began to break down in tears as she was led on stage, reports Entertainment Weekly.

The award was handed out during the online-only telecast of the Critics' Choice Awards, which aired before the CW broadcast the two final hours of the program.

Winfrey's spokesperson denies that the daytime TV queen ever reached out to Weinstein following the allegations, but said someone from his team contacted her to see if she would talk to him.

Stories about women also won in comedy categories.

Frances McDormand and Sam Rockwell, who were both absent from the event, were announced as Best Actress and Supporting Actor in a Movie for their performances in Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri.

"I would like to thank all the white men who allowed us to stand here today", Nanjiani expressed.

The duo then turned their attention to last weekend's Golden Globes, which saw the male winners criticized for not speaking out about the Time's Up anti-harassment campaign, unlike numerous females on the podium.

Australian Margot Robbie and Nicole Kidman are in the running for gongs at the ceremony in Los Angeles as awards season kicks on in Hollywood.
