Business group: Patience wearing thin with United Kingdom govt on Brexit

Business group: Patience wearing thin with United Kingdom govt on Brexit

"Future EU-UK relationship must respect EU regulatory autonomy".

A spokesman at May's office said she had agreed with them on the need to move on quickly in the Brexit talks to secure a trading relationship with the European Union that is as tariff-free and frictionless as possible after the transition period.

The UK Government insisted that its deal with Brussels meant expats could "continue living their lives broadly as they do now" after Brexit.

Japan warned Prime Minister Theresa May on Thursday that its companies would have to leave Britain if trade barriers after Brexit made them unprofitable.

According to an article by The Telegraph, Soros is "one of the three senior figures linked to the Remain-supporting campaign group Best for Britain" who is now planning to launch an advertising campaign this month with the hope of a second referendum, potentially to keep the country in the EU.

The main question for the Luxembourg-based Court of Justice is whether "Britons' EU citizenship would come to lapse should the EU and United Kingdom not decide on anything else in their negotiations", the Amsterdam District Court said in a statement following its judgment.

The organisation was co-founded Gina Miller, who took the government to court over its decision to invoke the Article 50 treaty terms formally beginning the process of leaving the EU. "That is the fundamental question that will be put forward to the European Court", Alberdingk Thijm said in emailed comments on the ruling.

British national Stephen Huyton, who has lived in the Netherlands for 24 years, said he was delighted with the decision.

It says a lack of clarity means businesses are starting to activate Brexit contingency plans, which could mean moving jobs from Britain to the EU.

"It could lead to all born before Brexit - even if living here in the United Kingdom - retaining the boon of European Union citizenship".

A Department for Exiting the EU spokesman said: "We have secured a deal that will safeguard the rights of United Kingdom nationals living in the European Union, so that they can continue living their lives broadly as they do now".
