Chelsea pursue Leicester City winger

Leicester boss Claude Puel insisted there were no hard feelings about the way City went about landing the player after an injury to Leroy Sane forced their hand.

According to The Sun, his good performances caught the eye of Premier League champions Chelsea.

Former Manchester United and England defender Neville lambasted Guardiola's decision to name six substitutes for last weekend's 1-1 draw at Burnley, arguing the final allocated spot on City's bench should have gone to a youth team player.

"He's a valuable player for this team like (Jamie) Vardy".

The Foxes grew into the game and started to look unsafe on the counter attack and this proved dividend for the former champions, as they equalised 1-1, midway through the first half. However, Aguero took centre stage with a finishing masterclass to take his tally in City's last seven home games to 14 goals as Guardiola's side moved 16 points clear.

After a goalless first half, Tottenham star Harry Kane scored the victor just four minutes after retaking the field.

"I'm really happy personally because the goals are helping the team to win and obviously that's very important", Aguero said.

Mahrez could make his Leicester comeback against Manchester City on Saturday - live on Sky Sports - and ahead of that game, Guardiola heaped praise on his goalkeeper Ederson.

If not for Leicester's haphazard defending in the second half, their attackers might have given City a run for their money.

That angered Mahrez and his response was to refuse to come in for training or play any games for the side. "We can try and do absolutely everything", Guardiola told the BBC.

"My advice for the players is not to think how many games are left, just to look to the next one", Guardiola added. It's important for us all to be together.

The 26-year-old had not trained with his team-mates since Manchester City launched a bid to sign him at the end of the January transfer window.

"Now it is about time to move on together and of course we are stronger with him".
