Bill Haas: golfer survives fatal auto crash

Bill Haas was injured in a auto accident in Pacific Palisades, Calif., on Tuesday evening that left the driver of the vehicle Haas was riding in dead and the driver of the other auto involved injured.

"Mr Bill Haas was the passenger in the Ferrari". The driver of the Ferrari, a 71-year-old man, was killed in the crash.

The six-time PGA Tour winner's father, Jay, told the Golf Channel on Wednesday that his son is expected to make a full recovery.

A third vehicle was also involved when the Ferrari clipped a Toyota FJ SUV just before the crash.

The fatal accident remains under investigation.

Pro golfer, Bill Haas, was injured in a horrific auto crash on February 13.

The driver of the Ferrari in which Haas was riding was killed when the auto collided with a BMW and rolled over.

"While Bill escaped serious injuries and has been released from the hospital, he is understandably shaken up and-more importantly-his deepest condolences go out to the host family during this tragic and hard time", the statement read. However, in a statement released through the PGA Tour, Haas' manager Allen Hobbs revealed that the former FedEx Cup victor has since been discharged from hospital.

Police said world No 67 Haas was "doing OK".

"Bill was very fortunate", Haas told Golf Channel.

Haas, a six-time victor on the PGA Tour, was set to play in the PGA Tour's Genesis Open, at the nearby Riviera Country Club, starting on Thursday.
