Where Is Timothy Cunningham? No Foul Play In Missing CDC Employee Case

Where Is Timothy Cunningham? No Foul Play In Missing CDC Employee Case

It's a mystery that's caused incredible heartbreak for the family of a missing Centers for Disease Control employee: What happened to Timothy Cunningham? Cunningham called out sick for work on Thursday and Friday of that week, and then returned to the CDC office in Chamblee on Monday, Feb. 12.

Police are planning to canvass Cunningham's Atlanta neighborhood again in the coming days.

Police said they have found no evidence of foul play but are still exploring every option in this case. Michael O'Connor of the major crimes unit. "It is not common for us to find someone's entire belongings".

Atlanta Police Department are investigating him as a missing person. Anything you could think of, we've been able to locate.

"That was really weird", Cunningham's sister said, adding that she was " devastated" by her brother's disappearance. He had been told a week before that he was being passed over for the job. Timothy Cunningham's next-door neighbor said he told her husband something odd that very day. "I feel like I'm in a disgusting Black Mirror episode", his sister, Tiara Cunningham, told the New York Times, referencing the dystopian sci-fi television show.

"Tim never leaves Beau unattended", his father told NBC.

O'Connor said there were a lot of uncommon details about the case.

"Everything about this disappearance is unusual", his father said.

"We're looking at everything", he said.

Police said they've processed Cunningham's home, searched the area, checked local hospitals but have found nothing.

O'Connor also confirmed Cunningham would not have been in the presence of infectious diseases at his place of employment.

His mom, Tia-Juana, and Timothy's father, Terrell Cunningham, are now anxious sick they may never see their son again after his disappearance.

"It is not factual", he said emphatically.

Cunningham, who had been deployed to deal with outbreaks of the Ebola and Zika viruses, earned multiple degrees from Harvard's T.H. Chan School of Public Health and served as team lead with the CDC's division of population health, according to his online bio. He also was a prominent fixture in the Atlanta community, earning a spot in Atlanta Business Chronicle's 40 Under 40 Awards previous year.

Police are offering a $10,000 reward for anyone with further information leading to his finding. Police believe that Cunningham made it to his northwest Atlanta home, but from there the trail goes cold.
