Donald Trump calls for drug dealers to face death penalty

Donald Trump calls for drug dealers to face death penalty

A survey of voters shows 4% of black women and 25% of Hispanic women supported Trump.

President Trump is holding a campaign rally outside of Pittsburgh on Saturday night to boost Republican congressional candidate Rick Saccone, who has been struggling to lock up a special election in a district Trump won by almost 20 points in the 2016 election.

TRUMP: We need our Congressman Saccone.

Then, he derided California Democrat Rep. Maxine Waters as "a low IQ individual". "There's no one that I would rather have in my corner that President Trump".

"And you wonder why we have a problem", Trump said.

Trump delivered "about five minutes" of what had been scripted for Saturday night's rally, a White House official familiar with the speech said.

"A win or a narrow loss here, either way, should really strike fear in the hearts of pretty much every Republican", said a Democratic party operative familiar with the race, "because there are a hundred districts that are structurally more advantageous than this one".

"The people of Pittsburgh can not be conned by this guy Lamb", Trump said.

Pennsylvania's Supreme Court recently redrew the district map after determining that the system now in place "clearly, plainly and palpably" violated the commonwealth's Constitution.

The rally, which had been rescheduled following the deadly Parkland, Florida, shooting last month, capped a frenzied stretch of fundraising and campaigning on behalf of Saccone, who is locked in a tight race with the Democratic nominee, Conor Lamb.

"The whole world, remember that".

DETROW: So rallying with Rick Saccone in a big airplane hanger, Trump put the Trump twist on the presidency. "This is a very important race". Mr. Trump said his unscripted approach to speechmaking is "more effective" than a so-called "presidential" oration. "He's going to vote the party line". "He's never going to vote for us".

"These people are killing our kids and they're killing our families, and we have to do something", he said. "The increasing frequency of limitless injunctions is simply unsustainable, and the ever-more extreme nature of some of these injunctions is only making it more obvious just how unconstitutional they are", Sessions said in a speech at the Federalist Society, a conservative legal group.

In the last one year, Trump said, his administration created three million jobs, passed the largest tax cuts and reforms in the American history. "And he's slightly younger than me".

"No, it's very positive", Mr. Trump said. "I encourage all voters, especially pro-life voters, to support Rick Saccone for Congress on Tuesday". "I don't think we should play games".

"We [the authorities in Singapore] have a zero tolerance policy ... that means if we catch a drug dealer, death penalty", Trump explained to the crowd, which roared in approval.

Surprisingly, the U.S. is among them, at least in theory.

However, he did reportedly state: "I don't know if this country's ready for it".

"Personally, I like Rick Saccone", he said. "If someone goes and shoots somebody, kills somebody they get the death penalty", said Trump.

"That's why we have a problem, folks", he added.

Trump said that allowing prosecutors to seek the death penalty for drug dealers - an idea he said he got from China's President Xi Jinping - is "a discussion we have to start thinking about".
